This is NOT Bob Barker's original screen-used microphone. This is an exact replica/reproduction. Bob Barker used only 3 microphones over the course of his 36 years hosting The Price is Right. From 1972 to 1992 he used an off-the-shelf Sony ECM-51 telescoping microphone. From 1992 to 2002 he used a customized version of another Sony model (the microphone depicted by this replica). From 2002 until his retirement in 2007, he used a 100% custom mic. The item you are bidding on was customized by me off of the same Sony microphone model used by CBS audio engineers to create the original - after exhaustive research on the techniques used to construct the original back in 1992. In an effort to be 100% accurate in my re-creation, this microphone has been hard-wired with a 100’ professional XLR microphone cord and runs on phantom power only – no batteries.
