A lovely old claret jug which would grace any table. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The silver part is securely fixed and the hinge is strong with no swagger. The spout features Bacchus, the god of wine, parties and merriment! The finial has a pine cone, associated with Bacchus, and the elegant handle has grape vine decoration. This is quite a heavy jug and is probably lead crystal.I am selling my collection of antique claret jugs and wine decanters and will be listing them all over the next few days.
