The book “contains scenes and incidents from its inception to its completion – description of the memorial structure and roll of honor.” The memorial was erected to perpetuate the memory of the Union Forces of Cuyahoga County. It is the main Civil War monument in the area. The book is profusely illustrated with vintage photos. Book description: Cleveland, The Monument Commissioners, 1894. Hardcover. The cloth cover features bright gilt lettering & decoration. Virtually no shelfwear. Decorated end papers. The front hinge has bee reinforced and the rear hinge & one gutter repaired with archival tape. Text block tight. The only other defect is a tiny chip at the bottom page edge affecting 3 pages. All else is Fine. 6” x 9 ½”, 770 pages. Not ex-library!! Very RARE!! See my other Cleveland and Cuyahoga county titles.
