This DVD is from the original 8mm home movies This footage is highlighted by some of the best filmed launch sequences I have ever seen Great attention was paid to all aspects, including great close-ups of the pilot saluting The person who filmed this had a very steady hand! Also includes scenes from around the ship, as well as UNREPS and liberty This is also one of the best documented cruises in my collection, with the running time exceeding one hour (that is a LOT of 8mm film) 1 hour 12 minutes running time The footage has not been edited. It has been left exactly as it was captured from the 8mm films. Produced by GRS Videos (TM), from the Gary R Schreffler Collection. GRS Videos is dedicated to the preservation of Naval Aviation film footage. This passion began when the son of a recently deceased Korean War veteran told me how he had thrown away all of those "old 8mm films of planes flying off of a ship". Yes, I cried.
