For sale Civil War Letter written by John Warner Sturtevant, April 27-29th, 1864 at District of Carrollton, LA, Camp of the 14 th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, attached to 2nd Division 19 th Army Corps. Letter is in ink, five pages 9 3/4 X 7 1/2 inches, very readable and in very good condition. Comes without envelope. John Warner Sturtevant enlisted on 8/31/1862 at Keene , NH as a Private. On 9/23/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. NH 14th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 7/8/1865 at Savannah, GA He was listed as wounded 9/19/1864 Opequan, VA, discharged for disability 1/18/1865 (place not stated). He was discharged before muster; discharge revoked 1/31/1865 (place not stated). (Restored to command) Promotions: 1st Sergeant 5/1/1863 , 2nd Lieut 10/17/1863 , 1st Lieut 1/1/1864 , Capt 1/4/1865 . I am greatly disappointed for nearly all our boys had letters from home acknowledging the receipt of their letters from Key West . I had thought you must have got it by the 11th instant and as our mail brought letters of the 15th, I read more
