RARE CZECH AMETHYST STAINED POWDER BOX WITH FULL 3D NUDE MERMAID Available for purchase is one of the RAREST and most sought after Powder Boxes you will ever see!! This Art Deco creation was made in the Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic and is a CIO WORLDWIDE exclusive. This Lalique influenced Powder Box is completely hand crafted from the finest quality 24% Lead Crystal and then permanently chemically stained with a LOVELY Amethyst or Lilac Purple color. The footed Base of this Powder Box features an array of swimming Fish, however, the highlight of this Powder Box is not the Base, but rather what is sitting upon it. This RARE Powder Box features a 3 DIMENSIONAL FULL BODY NUDE MERMAID situated on the lid as the finial which can also be used as the handle. Making this Powder Box even RARER yet is the fact that CIO has produced this piece for the FIRST TIME in over 60 years using the ORIGINAL VINTAGE MOLDS . It is an EXACT REPLICA of that made back in the early 1920's with EVERY detail magnificently mastered ... right down to the facial features and hair which can easily be seen..... yielding this TRUE masterpiece!! This LOVELY Powder Box stands 5 3/4" tall (including Nude finial) and 4" across at its widest. Both the Base and Lid are in EXCELLENT condition with absolutely NO DAMAGE!! During this period, these pieces were hand-cut and polished by skilled artisans with the ultimate goal of reaching perfection in EVERY detail. Most of the original molds of this ERA were destroyed by the Germans in World War II for use in production of ammunition.
