We are offering a great collection of eight (8) cased Daguerreotypes and Ambrotypes of the Hawley family. T are 4 daguerreotypes and 4 ambrotypes. (The daguerreotypes we believe are dated from mid-late 1840's.) Most of the photographs have a small piece of paper in the case that identifies the person in the photo. The photos are as follows: 1.) 1/6 plate daguerreotype of a little girl holding a baby on her lap. Written in pencil on a piece of paper inserted in the case is âeoeAnna C.N. Hawley & Phila W. Newtonâe . The photograph is in good condition for its age, but is a little faded and has some spotting. The leather case is in fair to good condition for its age âe" the clasp is intact and works, but the spine is a little loose, and t is wear to the leather. 2.) 1/9 plate daguerreotype of a pretty woman wearing a straw bonnet. A piece of paper inserted in the case identifies the woman as âeoeElizabeth Anne Pelton Newton. Wife of Philo Slocum Newton and Mother of Anne Coleman Newton Hawley, who was Mother of George Burton Hawley.âe The photo is in excellent condition âe" bright & clear, with a little bit of spotting. The case, for the most part, is in excellent condition hardly showing any wear to the leather, with working clasp intact.
