The oil on board, or heavy card, painting depicts the Linfern Road in Dailly Village with the Dailly Parish Church on the lh side and figures with umbrellas walking in the rain. The scene is typically autumnal and the crows are riding the winds above the copse at the top of the road. The Dailly Parish Church, which was built in 1766 and extensively altered to the present layout in 1915, is very distinctive with its unusual tower and faces the row of cottages. The scene was painted in 1987. The painting is in good condition with no paint loss but there are two light surface scratch marks - one above the signature and another running from the copse to the rh edge of the street in the green patch. These scratches are not particularly noticeable in normal viewing and do not detract from the painting. The aritst's signature and date are in the lower rh corner and the title Dailly is written in the same hand in the lower lh corner below the church. The painting is displayed with read more
