Up for auction is a very small, dainty, sphere shaped, ruffled rim, Fenton white and blue opalescent, hobnail, violet vase (pictured #1). Fenton glass became popular around 1907 and continues until today. Around the eight ruffled rim of this small violet vase and down about four rows of hobnails is a white opalescent coloring and deep within this white opalescence is a blue hue (1907) and hobnails were introduced into circulation in (1902). The vase has a ruffled rim to hold short stemmed blue/purple/white violets in place like a bouquet. This item is in 'mint' condition and measures 2 3/4" tall X 3 1/4" at its widest point, and the underside is 2" in diameter. Mr. Fenton is the father of hobnail glassware making this vase very valuable. This vase would do well in a curio display, part of a larger more comprehensive Fenton hobnail collection or even for the beginning collector as there are many books written about this glassware that can be found in the library or at your local book store.Any questions?
