A very finely done vajrayogini thangka surrounded by other dakinis, unfortunatly I am unable to identify them. Also very reasonably priced and would look lovely when mounted in a deep burgundy or purple brocade in my opinion :) This thangka measures a Lovely 25 X 17 INCHES I DO OFFER THE FACILITY TO HAVE THE THANGKA MOUNTED IN PURE SILK BROCADE AS WELL IN CASE YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISPLAY IT IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER. I DO NOT CHARGE THE KIND OF PRICES OTHER SELLERS DO IF THEY ARE EVEN ABLE TO OFFER SUCH A SERVICE DO, AND DON'T USE POLYESTER ONLY THE PUREST HIHG GRADE VARANASI WOVEN SILK :) The brocade frame of the Thangka also holds symbolic meaning. The inner frame of brocade (often red) can be thought of as a rainbow gateway beyond which lies the pure land inhabited by the deity the Thangka represents. Attached to the top of the frame is a rectangle of colored silk which is long enough to hang all the way down to the bottom of the painting. This acts as a cover for the Thangka and allows it to be 'put to sleep' when it is not in use, as well as acting as a protective dust cover to keep the painting safe when it is stored.
