"Dale" was released in early 2007 showing only in major NASCAR markets. The film is a collaboration between NASCAR Media and CMT, and was released to DVD. Motorsports Authentics released a set of 12 cars in conjunction with the movie. These cars represent various important dates and cars in Dale's life. This particular car is the 1996 "Starting In Front" Monte Carlo that Earnhardt raced on August 11, 1996. He started on the pole that day and ended up finishing sixth, even with a broken shoulder.
