It, too, is a first edition, but not a review copy. The asking price is $115.00. ___________ Daniel Judson Callaghan (July 26, 1890 - November 13, 1942) graduated from the Naval Academy in 1911. Before WWII, his service included command of TRUXTON (DD-14) and duty as aide to President Roosevelt. Callaghan served as captain of the heavy cruiser U.S.S. SAN FRANCISCO, which had escaped serious damage in the attack on Pearl Harbor, from May 1941 to May 1942. After spending the next six months on Vice Admiral William Halsey's staff, he returned to the SAN FRANCISCO as commander of Task Force 65, made up of five cruisers and eight destroyers that fought the first naval battle of Guadalcanal in November 1942.
