Up for auction is this early example of Danish design by Hans Wegner.This rocking chair was designed in 1944 and was inspired by shaker influence. Wegner was determined to handcraft his pieces rather than mass produce them, an idea which was much respected in scandinavian design.Constucted of solid beech with a papercord seat, this amazing piece of design history would make an excellent addition to any collectors home. Chair retains original impressed manufacturers mark. Rocker measures: 24" wide 30.5" deep 39.5" back height 16" seat height We have rated the condition of this piece excellent - a 9.5 out of a perfect 10. Frame is strong, papercord is in excellent condition. A few very minor nicks to frame. Some faint stains on runners, which is typical for a piece of this age. This highly desireable rocker still has plenty of life in it and is ready to enjoy. Please ask us any questions you may have, we are happy to help and can send additional pics as well.
