DAS Heartland 2 Marble Gold Lutz Lemon Drop Twister MINT Run Date: May 2014Here's a very rare marble for the serious collector. Out of 15,000 JABO marbles in my collection, I found 2 of these. Maybe I'm crazy for selling, but here it is...a gold lutz Lemon Drop Twister marble. I won't sell the other one, but this one is available to someone who likes these landscaped little beauties. I'll keep it reasonably priced, so it won't be too crazy to afford. I hope you can appreciate the rarity on this one.This is one of those oddball marbles that some collectors seem to go crazy over. These marbles are caused when the molten glass cools unevenly and this result is called "landscaping". You can actually see how a single strand of molten glass gets twisted around the circumference of the sphere...really cool stuff. A great technical description can be credited to Matthew Davis from his excellent website as follows: "The landscaping resembles topological lines that become defined by the varying temperatures of the striking glass, as it is added to the base glass and the rapid cooling on the metal rollers. "In any case, this particular type of landscaping is normally bilaterally symmetrical and creates what is known as a "Ram's Head" due to the shape resembling, well, a rams head.
