DAUGHTER OF THE EUPHRATES * 1915 Armenian Genocide * DAUGHTER OF THE EUPHRATES Rare book. Wear and slight soiling from outside, but in clean and solid condition inside (see scan above). Printed in 1979 by The Armenian Missionary Association of America. 277 pages with the map on the front flap. Softcover binding. The book shows wear, condition fair plus to good minus. The text itself is clean. From the author's preface "I do not tell this, the story of my life as I remember it in the interior of Turkey during and before the massacre years of 1915-1919, because it is the most harrowing, but because in the twenty years that have elapsed, no other survivor of that affliction has risen to perpetuate the personal experience of one who lived it. My account merely rounds out, in part, the story of the tragedy of the Near East which has elsewhere been copiously told by 'observers' by Near East Relief workers, by impassioned but impotent statesmen, and by platform lecturers..." A very unique and interesting book about the author and her family's escape from the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. An autobiography of a young girl's experiences of events during the Armenian genocide of 1915. A book about an Armenian missionary family that refused to bow to bael, or to any gods, other than the one true god.
