Set of Four David Stone Martin Jazz Age Musicians Chicago LithographsOffering a set of four David Stone Martin lithographs of the Jazz musician scene in Chicago, IL. One depicts the rail lines at S. Clark and S. Halsted Chicago with a jazz band on the stairs to the train, with a sight line of 14 1/2" high x 10 7/8" wide. From an early drawing by David Stone Martin and possibly the study for an album cover. There is a second lithograph of musicians on their way to a gig with one seated on a stoop and a cat in a carrying case. This one has a sight line of 15 3/4" high x 11 1/8" wide. Two other lithographs are included, one measuring 15 3/4" x 11/4" and depicting a clarinetist and the other measuring 14 3/8"h x 10 1/2"w of a trombonist with drums in the foreground. All four lithographs are signed in the plate and are framed very elegantly in simple black wood frames with red silk mats. Minor scuffs to frames but no damage to the prints or glass.David Stone Martin (1913–1992), born David Livingstone Martin, was an influential American artist best known for his illustrations on jazz record albums.
