You are bidding on an unused sextant that was originally purchased for a lifetime dream trip that never happened.The Davis Mark 25 Master Sextant is the "top of the line" Davis plastic sextant. The Mark 25 features the Beam Converger(tm) mirror, sometimes referred to as a "full horizon mirror". The Mark 25 replaces the conventional half-silvered mirror with a full-field dielectric beam converger (a special coating is applied to high quality optical glass) and combines horizon and celestial images in a single field for easy, reliable sights even in low light conditions (e.g. picking up images as faint as low-light stars).Voyages to every corner of the globe have confirmed the outstanding quality and utility of the Mark 25. In fact, many experienced navigators prefer it to metal sextants for some very good reasons, not the least of which is its affordability.
