1914 $10 large-sized Federal Reserve Note (FRN), from the Kansas City district, with blue seal and serial numbers. We grade this note F-VF. We see no pinholes or tears. This note has the feel and appearance of having been washed at some point. Friedberg number is 942 ; serial # is J11629069A . Signatures are Burke and Houston. 130 examples of this particular Friedberg number are known in all grades, based on Gengerke's census data of August 2010. Here at DBR Currency, we believe that the rarity of paper money has not yet been fully appreciated, and that the larger coin market will propel paper-money values higher over time. Starting January 1st, California residents must pay 8.00% sales tax, an increase of 0.25% mandated by passage of Gov. Jerry Brown's Prop. 30.
