The PETIT VOYAGES comprise probably the greatest single collection of material on early voyages to the East Indies, and are unique in their extraordinary wealth of cartographical and visual material on Africa, India, the Spice Islands, and South Asia Beautifully illustrated with 30 (of 39 )engraved plates, mostly depicting scenes in India and China. The books are superbly bound in 19 th century blindstamped morocco in a typical renaissance style, marbled endpapers, contents generally in good condition with only minor thumb marks and stains,some browning to some text leaves, 1 folding plate with repairs and small loss, books lack the portrait of Linschoten, the engraved title, 9 plates and the 3 maps.
