Deborah Banyas Original, Signed Pastel "The Ram" 1984This is an original pastel on paper by artist Deborah Banyas created in 1984. The drawing is protected by a white, double mat and will be shipped flat to the winning bidder. The mat opening (artwork) measures 11 1/2" X 13 1/4" and the outside dimension of the mat is 19 3/8" X 20 1/4." The artwork has been framed under glass (it is no longer framed) and is in perfect condition with wonderful color subtleties. The double mat, although not "like-new," is more than adequate: just add a frame and glass.Deborah Banyas and Terry Speer have lived the lives of independent artists since their marriage in 1976. After doing pastel drawings in the 1980s, Banyas and Speer began studying and collecting American and Mexican folk art and their passion for the material began to rub off on their own artwork. Deborah began a series of sewn/stuffed/painted figures that proved to be popular with collectors. Banyas has thought about doing graphic work again.
