DECCA SXL 2268 WBGv Ed3 RIMSKY-KORSAKOV SCHEHERAZADE ANSERMET Description DECCA SXL 2268 WBGv Ed3 RIMSKY-KORSAKOV SCHEHERAZADE ANSERMET This is one of a number of vinyl records from the 1950’s & 60’s listed this week which we no longer listen to. Little played, the records are still in very good condition, the covers sometimes less so. Gradings are based on the “Record Collector Magazine's Guide” set out in the eBay Guides together with notes about condition added. Extracts from the Gramophone Magazine review written at the time of the record’s release are included, with the permission of the publishers, where these are available. RECORD GRADING VERY GOOD Overall, this is almost an excellent record but there is a short fine hairline across the opening grooves of side 1 which does produce repetitive ticks for the opening 3 minutes of the side. They are a soft tick not a loud sound but they are persistent. Thereafter the side plays with only a very occasional light tick and the quality of the sound is stunning. There is also a hairline on the early part of side 2 which does cause perhaps half a dozen very light distant sounding ticks followed by a pop. Whilst this hairline is longer than the one on side 1 it does not cause further unwanted sounds. In fact the remainder of the side, like side 1, plays excellently with only a very occasional light tick and, again, stunning sound COVER GRADING EXCELLENT Undamaged, even at the corners, this is an excellent cover. There is just a little creasing of the laminate on the front and a little age discolouration on the back. The Blue square inner sleeve is also excellent; clean, undamaged and only lightly creased I have no wish for you to be disappointed by your purchase. If you think the grading/description was unfair or unreasonable when you receive the record, you may return it and you will have a full refund of all that you have paid me. All I require is that you contact me within 7 days of its receipt to tell me you intend to return it, and that I receive the record in the same condition as it was when it was sent to you. MINT Record In brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality Cover In perfect condition, as are extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster EXCELLENT Record Shows signs of having been played, but with very little lessening in sound quality Cover Slight wear and / or creasing to the cover or its contents VERY GOOD Record Obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch Cover Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects GOOD Record Played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, and there may be some distortion and mild scratches Cover Suffers from folding, scuffed edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. Payment Payment by UK Buyers PayPal is the preferred method for payment.
