Deco Pan American Clipper Airplane Lamp Over World Base From this fabulous estate that I got art deco lamps and airplane lamps. They had an antique and crafts store in their barn in the back that has been closed since the late 1980's. Wingspan alone is approx. 18". Height is approx. 15". Length is approx. 13 1/2". The world base diameter is approx. 8". No dents or breaks. The lamp lights up at the windows at top and bottom. The propellers all spin. The plane is held up by a goose neck rod that can be shaped in many ways. This has got to be the premier airplane lamp by its size and image. A powerful image indeed. The plane is a Pan American Clipper in service from 1931 - 1946 with routes to the Philipines, Hawaii, the Carribean. They were called flying boats and were large passenger airliners to these tropical exotic places at a time when air travel was still new. The lamp works fine and was is wiring is ready to go. .
