Del Tin Medieval Sword 2130 With Case Holder Del Tin 2130 DT 2130 is a sword inspired by the St Maurice sword of Turin. I have no idea how accurate it is, but it's hilt is very similar in appearance to the "Turin" sword pictured in Oakeshott's "Archeology of Weapons" {itself a replica}. The sword as produced by Del Tin is a heavy duty type 10 {Oakeshott typology}, designed with heavy combat against mail armored opponents in mind. The broad, wide blade has a deep fuller that runs nearly the full length of the blade. The broad spatulate tip can be used for thrusting, but keeping true to type, is obviously not intended for thrusting. The blade has the typical Del Tin dark grey appearance, as does the guard and pommel. The grip is covered by a black leather wrap, and is short as a large hand fits tightly between guard and pommel {also keeping true to type}. However, it is not an uncomfortable grip, quite the contrary, in fact in dry handling and in chopping/cutting practice it is quite serviceable/comfortable as is. The sword's balance is just right for a heavy duty chopping blade. It may seem blade heavy for those used to renaissance swords, but the balance gives this sword excellent handling for the kind of service intended. The sword "tracks" very nicely into the target.
