Delightful Antique Sevres Thomas Bavarian Handpainted Porcelain Roses Plate An enchanting one-of-a-kind floral design created circa 1910-1920-- whoa- that's (85 years ago!!!). The colors are charming and romantic in a palette of dreamy blues, sweetheart pinks, minty green, crimson and violet. Delicately detailed roses dance around a golden rim. Most assuredly a 'must have' for the floral art collector, the pansy lover, or just someone with excellent taste. F. Thomas Porcelain Factory. The back displays the underglaze hallmark in teal blue with the Thomas "Sevres " Bavaria shield.This plate is made of fine European 'hard paste' porcelain, of similar high quality to the 'hard paste' porcelains produced in Limoges, France during the early 20th Century. 'Hard paste' porcelain tends not to 'craze' with age, as does 'soft paste' porcelain and English bone china. The plate measures approximately 8-1/4 inches in diameter. No chips, cracks, crazing, fading or stains, and only the lightest of wear to the gold trim. Appears to be in excellent condition except for flatware scratches from normal use.
