Dell Glass Tulip Old Jersey Decanter w/ stopper & label Offered is a Long Neck "Tulip" Decanter with stopper produced by the Old Jersey Glass Company of Millville , NJ for sale by the Dell Company, also of Millville . This decanter has been described in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass by Gene Florence as being one of the most rare and difficult pieces to locate of the Dell Tulip pattern. The appearance of examples of this decanter with Old Jersey Glass Company labels would seem to contradict the Dell attribution. In fact, Old Jersey and Dell were both owned and operated by same person - Samuel L. Gerson. The Old Jersey Glass Company was one of a number of glass blowing companies founded by Gerson to produce glass for sale under the Dell Company label. (Think of Dell as being the primary company, with Old Jersey being a smaller division of the larger company.) Stranger yet, when the pressed glass "tulip pattern" ware was being produced by Dell, Old Jersey handblown ware was being produced at the same time in the same factory building in Millville!
