"Deluxe Flint & Steel Kit " Kit from "At Historys Door Trading Company" for "Living History Reenactors" Up for bid is a period correct flint & steel kit, it blends in well with any " Living History" persona, a great item to keep in your haversack, possible bag or snap sack, included in this kit is a hand stitched "Elk" hide wallet dyed using walnut hulls and bear oil, the flap is made of vegetable tanned leather and use's a vintage bone button for a keeper, this bag has the look and feel of a old time woodsman's bag. All seams were sealed with bees wax, it measures approximately 5 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" deep, the bag is designed to hold the following fire starting supplies: A large hand forged "French" style steel striker 3 3/4" long with a twisted gooseneck curled end, {Every Striker is tested before it leaves my shop}, A hammered tin tinder{ 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1" } box filled with pine pitch sticks, cedar shavings, a homemade bees wax candle stub,and several very large piece's of "Chaga" { The English name is birch tinder fungus, takes hot sparks, alittle goes along way, Once you have tried some Chaga you will throw your charred cloth away, I find it superior to charred cloth, once it is charred the Chaga holds a hot amber longer, hotter, and faster!, the only problem you will have is putting it out.} Also you receive three
