Denmark Georg Jensen TORUN sterling sodalite RING no.190 is your opportunity to purchase a TORUN ring made in a very limited edition in the 1970s. The Swedish designer Vivianna Torun Bulow Hube worked with the leading Danish silversmithy Georg Jensen from the late 1960s until 2004. She created some of the most iconic Jensen modernist pieces, including the 'Mobius' series of brooch, ring and bangle, which has recently been supplemented by earrings and a pendant. In the 1970s the Georg Jensen company issued numerous designs with short runs, and this ring belongs to that group. It was produced with either a sodalite, falcon eye or tiger eye stone, and the design was also used for cufflinks. The shape of the silver is reminiscent of another of Torun 's most famous creations, the open bangle watch, known as Vivianna. Earlier this year I noticed that this ring was listed on ebay for over $1,000. I am starting this auction at a much more modest price, with no reserve, in the hope and expectation that it will appeal to many of you.
