Long ago, three wise men lay before the infant Jesus gifts of Gold, Frankincence and Myrrh. These rare and precious gifts of the Magi were gifts of health and long life. Myrrh, used by the wealthiest, is a resin much like frankincence, but more expensive. It was used for its value and for its exotic fragrance and medicinal properties. This auction is for a RETIRED, RARE AND HARD TO FIND large, impressive King holding the gift of Myrrh. He is 15 inches tall, made of white, detailed porcelain and in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. He comes in his original box which does show some shelf wear.
