OFFICIAL DICK TRACY 2 WAY ELECTRONIC WRIST RADIOS TWO COMPLETE STATIONS - STRONG SIGNAL BUZZER - GOOD UP TO 1/2 MILE - BATTERY POWERED This is an old Dick Tracy toy from Remco Industries in its original box with all components present and complete, including the instructions. There's no date on it anywhere, but it looks like it must be from the 1950s. Even though it says "radio," the two units are actually connected by a long wire. Basically it's a battery-powered, wired intercom, with wrist-straps. Buttons on the "Master Station" can send a buzz tone and Morse Code There is no battery cover on the space where the battery goes in the larger unit, but it looks very much like it was meant to be that way (i.e. it was manufactured without one.) Otherwise, all the pieces of the kit are present. The buzzer on the Master Station totally works (and sounds pretty cool.) I couldn't get much if any sound to come out of the speakers, however. (I thought I did hear something buzzy, but that may have been just the tin can on a string effect -- which may well have been the main effect of the unit even when properly functioning. Reading between the lines of the instructions, it sounds very much like care had to be taken to separate the units so that the audible voices of the kids talking wouldn't be louder than the signals coming through the read more
