Offered for sale is a DIETZ TRAFFIC GARD RAILROAD LANTERN, with an original red glass globe. The globe is marked, DIETZ No. 40 in raised letters. The top has the words, "DIETZ TRAFFIC GARD No. 40 SYRACUSE, N.Y - U.S.A". The globe is in very good condition with one little chip in the raised rim (first one down in the picture). The burner is in good condition with a length of round, approximately 3/8 inch wide wick. The wick adjuster works perfectly. The body of the lantern is in good shape, with a little light surface rust and a few small dents. The interior of the kerosene tank is not rusted. The pictures tell the story better than I can.
