This is a complete set of Dinky/Mechano Dolly Varden kitchen furniture. Its styling is typically Art Deco. It consists of a dresser with opening doors and drawers, stove/oven, fridge with a printed tinplate panel of contents, kitchen table and chair. Made ca 1935, the styling is pure Art Deco. There are a few traces of metal fatigue as these sets were made of zamak, (an alloy used by Dinky in the early days, and prone to metal fatigue), and it is hard to find complete sets that are in generally good condition. The oven door has lost one hinge, there are a few small chips in the paint here and there, and spots of discolouration. The pieces come with tinplate back panels , but as with other pieces in the series, the backs rarely stay in place. The set still displays well, and can be described as still being in generally good condition for zamak. I will be listing two more sets, the dining room and the bedroom. Please view all of them.
