DINKY TOYS No114 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE Very good condition and boxed Serious bids only, from £50, please This boxed Dinky Toys No114 Triumph Spitfire was made by Meccano from 1963 - 1971.The Spitfire was a popular British sports car in the late 1960s - a rival for the MG Midget and Austin-Healey Sprite. Based on the Triumph Herald saloon, it also had a forward-opening bonnet - as does this model.Other features are suspension, fingertip steering, a cream interior with black steering wheel and - unusually - a detachable driver's seat-belt. Unfortunately, the plastic model of a lady driver is missing. In addition, the model has an undamaged plastic windscreen. The frame has been painted silver. There is some other minor superdetailing, eg: door handles and rear lights. The pale grey, detailed chassis is in immaculate condition. Please note that while the red paintwork is original, close-up photographs show some minor re-touching of the red paint. Also, the paint on the bootlid is not very smooth and has been like this since it was new. The model has its original treaded tyres and is still free-running.The original box is in excellent condition apart from some very minor creasing/crumpling, which may be visible in the photographs. The price '6/6' appears in pencil on one main end flap. Serious bids only, from £50, please Payment by Pay read more
