I have recently started a sister account to this eBay user name that offers items specifically to benefit the charity "Give Kids The World". This charity permits families with children that have life threatening or terminal illnesses to travel to Orlando and stay at the Give Kids The World resort and enjoy the local attractions. 100% of the proceeds from these auctions will go to that charity with my taking NO profit whatsoever. While the items may not be highly sought after I would ask that in the spirit of giving and compassion for the families and children dealing with these crises that you consider making a purchase. Whether you are new to Disney pin trading or one of my regular customers you may rest assured that I will always be offering many top quality pins. In 2009 I had the opportunity to attend the annual NFFC National Convention show and sale in Anaheim. Compared to prior major events the lack of quality pins was quite evident. Simply put, the most sought after and rarer pins are becoming harder and harder to find. Many end up in permanent collections, few are damaged, some lost, and the rest are out there for trade with other private collectors. With edition sizes ranging from as low as 25 to 500 for many of the sought after pins, supply is becoming ever more limited. In additional, over the last few years, I have noticed a significant cyclical flucuation in pin values. With you, the buyer, having the summer weather, your children out of school, and many other activities available to you, less is obviously spent on pins and prices become depressed, to normally rise again in the fall as Christmas approaches. As many of my offerings were hard to find, I will protect my investment in these pins to an even greater extent until over time and several seasons they have established a valid lower plateau for their pricing. Also, there seems to be a trend towards active bidding only on the more popular pins and characters with a greater lack of interest in the rarer and older Cast Member and event pins. These are the greatest rarities and I am not likely to start these at low values as I continue to acquire those that I find. Given these developments, I have decided to continue to offer more common pins with starting bids at or below cost, and rarer, hard to find pins at fixed prices with a "best offer" feature. Please bear in mind that my "Best Offer" prices, since they will not dramatically exceed my cost, plus fees and expenses, will not result in the acceptance of low offers from potential buyers. If I offer a pin at $75, please don't offer me $25, It would be counter-productive for me to accept it. Unlike many other sellers I have seen of late I will keep the prices within reason, not the 3, 4, or up to 10x market value I see others offering their rare pins for, but I also must grant that some come up so rarely that "market value" is extremely subjective. However, please keep this in mind and purchase, or offer on these pins if you are truly comfortable with the pricing. I have always desired to offer those rare pins that you, the collector seek to highlight or form the cornerstone of your collections, so value to you may also be intrinsic in addition to monetary if you have a personal attachment to a given pin. In addition, please remember that as a seller, my sales costs also include packaging tape, printer ink, printer paper, shipping supplies, sales tracking and auction listing tools, not to mention the 10-12% that eBay and Paypal take off the top for fees and commissions.
