Disney's Knickerbocker Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs Bashful Doll Released 1938! For That Special Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Collector! Disney's 1938 Knickerbocker Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs BASHFUL Doll "Produce The Doll!!" Walt and Roy Disney's original marketing decision to manufacture and sell Disney character merchandise started with the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Charlotte Clark Dolls. The success of the marketing strategy to "Produce The Doll" was an immediate financial bonanza for the Studios. With the release of Walt Disney's Feature Film, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs in 1937, Walt and Roy licensed the Knickerbocker Toy Company to do a series of beautiful stuffed cloth Dwarfs Dolls that featured "true to character" composition faces and hands. The painting of the faces of each Dwarf was done with care and endearing expressions. The Dwarfs clothes and hats were made of plush velveteen. The Dwarfs were completed with hats, shoes and life-like beards. This magnificent 1938 Knickerbocker Snow White "Bashful" Doll is in excellent condition for its age as it is now almost 85 YEARS OLD! It would be difficult to find another Knickerbocker 1938 "Bashful" Seven Dwarfs Doll in such good condition!
