This painting helped establish an overall look for the New Fantasyland that opened at Disneyland on May 25, 1983, as well as the Fantasyland for Disneyland Paris. The legendary Imagineer signed this piece during an appearance at The Disney Gallery in 1990.The remodeled Fantasyland opened in 1983 with the oversight of Baxter. It included the redesign of all the buildings to change from a Renaissance look to that of a Bavarian village. Under Baxter's supervision, the new Fantasyland featured rich details and was the most technically advanced land in the park for the era.Baxter signed the piece on the photo representation and gave the piece a name, "Fantasy On Fantasyland" on the matte.This print was released by the Disney Gallery, which opened above Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland in 1987, to display the art, designs, and models created by artists at WED Enterprises now called Walt Disney Imagineering.The print is signed and dated by Tony Baxter. The overall measurements of the framed piece are 16.5" x 22", with the mat opening measuring 7.25" x 13.5", and the image itself measuring 7" x 13"At the time of its' creation Tony said his intention was "to make the new Fantasyland impress today's sophisticated youngsters in much the same way my generation was awed by the original version."Condition is Used.
