You are bidding on a 1 troy oz. .999 fine silver limited edition commemorative proof coin commissioned by the Disney Co. to honor the 60th anniversary of the Mickey Mouse character in 1988. The obverse of the coin has a representation of Mickey Mouse in his first animated short "Steamboat Willie"(19280. It depicts "Steamboat Willie" at the wheel of his boat. The reverse shows a tuxedo dressed Mickey in tennis shoes standing on a strip of film with "Mickey, Sixty Years With You" encircling the image. This proof coin measures 1.54" (39.35 mm) in diameter and weighs 1 troy oz. (31.103 grams). It comes fully encapsulated in plastic and in a gold trimmed velour presentation binder plus its original box. In addition it is accompanied with an 8 page foldout brochure give a history of the Mickey Mouse character and its impact on the Disney brand as well a page of specifications on the coin. the coin is a limited edition piece with serial no. 75764.
