Disraeli (Warner Brothers, 1929). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). George Arliss won the Best Actor Oscar (third given, first to a Britisher) for his brilliant turn in this film, shown here in a complete lobby set. Luckily, Arliss had toured the US for over five years on the stage and Broadway in this role, so he was more than prepared by the time the cameras rolled (he had even filmed a silent version). Four of the cards feature a young Joan Bennett. Arliss was given casting control of the ten sound films he made for Warners. There are pinholes in all corners, some cards have tack holes, dust shadows, tears and small stains. One has a tear in the left border, and one has a small chip in the right border and a hole in the top left center. There are some slight wrinkles that could easily be pressed out. Don't overlook this important set. Very Good-. Grade: 35, Service No.: 1411978
