HENRY, DISSTON: 26", 5 POINT D-8 RIP SAW WITH ALL ORIGINAL HARDWARE, HAND SHARPENEDThe plate has been cleaned, tuned and properly sharpened. The tooth line is crown breasted, the plate is straight and flat. There is a bit of staining and a little fine pitting on this plate but it is still smooth & slick with no issues that affect its function, see the pictures. The teeth are very sharp and consistent. The handle has a little chipping around a couple screws but is otherwise in very nice shape with no repairs or previous owner's marks. The handle has been refinished with BLO & shellac. There are small nicks and blemishes on the handle but it is sound. I believe it to have all its original parts. The etch is faint but there and partially readable. The saw has been tuned and sharpened with a traditional rip configuration, 8 degrees of rake, 0 degrees of fleam and 0 degrees of slope. This saw is setup aggressive and cuts very fast and smooth. The tooth line is graduated up a point near the toe which is standard for this saw.The D-8 rip is one of my favorite saws. It has a cool business like look and lives up to its reputation. This saw has a 26" crowned tooth line that has been hand sharpened to perfection. The teeth are very sharp and consistent. The plate height is 2 5/8" at the toe and 7 1/4" at the handle.
