UP FOR AUCTION ON EBAY DKF Dornheim, Koch & fischer LARGE MEISSEN-STYLEGRAND PIANO TRINKET BOX C1860-1937 · MADE IN GERMANY ITEM: Antique DKF (Porzellanfabrik Dornheim, Koch & Fischer) Rococo Ornamental Grand Piano DESCRIPTION/CONDITION: For your consideration...from the German town of Graefenroda-Thuringia comes this highly ornamental pure white piece by DKF featuring hand painted butterflies and blue, yellow and pink flower bouquets w/gold gilt. Item is adorned with approximately 365 applied multi-colored flowers of which 344 are completely in tact. Very old hinges. Gold gilt. Item is missing the pedal extension and does have a repair to the leg. Only some slight yellow discoloration is visible T is an indentation on the inside of the lid as if it could have had a stick at one time to hold the lid open. I feel since the item forms a trinket box, the lid is perhaps meant to be closed so perhaps t is no stick. Incised on the bottom is the following: "X (crossed sword trademark of DKM) - DKM - Made in Germany". Same crossed swords in blue (to faint to photograph) also appear on the bottom.
