A Doulton Lambeth Queen Victoria 1837-1897 Diamond Jubilee large 9" commemorative stoneware jug, using relief-moulded & tube-lined decoration with a three-quarter profile of the young Queen & a profile portrait of her in older age, along with the inscription 'Dei Gratia Victoria Queen and Empress. She wrought her people lasting good'. The base has the impressed factory mark for Doulton Lambeth in use c.1891-1956 but obviously this jug dates to the mid-1890's in preperation for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Also t here are various incised monograms for the artists/assistants who worked on the piece, with one possibly being for Jane Hurst (period at Doulton 1879-1922) but I've been unable to identify any of the other ones. CONDITION REPORT: Very Good/Excellent with no cracks, hairlines or crazing to the main body & rings true when tapped. There is only a minor chip to the rim approx 7×1mm (PIC 8) which is difficult to see & surface glaze hairlines/crazing visible to the young Queen relief portrait (PIC 9), along with minor nibbles to the tube-lining (PICS 10-12). Please use the pictures as part of the condition report (any bright white marks is due to the camera flash or sunlight) & I'm happy to send more pictures on request.
