Dragon Armor M4A3E8(76)W HVSS Sherman, Very RareNo. 60297, Vintage year - 2007, Scale - 1:72Unit - 37th Tank Battalion, 4th Armored Division - called unofficially the "Breakthrough" Division, the 4th Armored raced into Belgium (spearheading for Patton's Third Army) in a 150 mile march that took less than 20 hours. The 4th armored assaulted the German's "bulge" in an effort to relieve the 101st Airborne Division that was besieged in Bastogne from 22-26 December. The first Sherman crossed the last few hundred meters of the Arlon-Bastogne highway and relieved defenders. After the Bulge, the Division advanced to the Moselle River and east to Worms and across the Rhine on 24-25 March 1945. It liberated Lauterback, Creuzberg, Gotha and was across the Saale River by April 12th.Campaign - Germany 1945 - during the Bulge, the 4th was commanded by Major General Hugh Gaffey and by General Patton after General John Shirley Wood was ordered back to the U.S. This famous tank belonged to Creighton Abrams, who commanded the 37th Tank Battalion.Markings - olive drab with white star on turret and Thunderbolt VII logo on side hull.
