This Japanese drawknife appears to be 40-50 or so years old, and is meant for the rough shaping of timbers. It appears to have been hand-forged, and although it seems to be laminated we can't find a clear seam on the blade. T are faint maker's marks at both ends of the blade, but they are completely illegible. T is no particular damage, although t is quite a lot of oxidation on most of the metal. The cutting edge is somewhat ragged and has some nicks but t is no fatally significant damage. The handles are firmly attached and in good if worn condition.Measures about W17 1/2" (443mm) overall, with a W8 3/8" (214mm) cutting edge.
