Dresden Porcelain FigurineMarshal Jean Lannes Exquisite Dresden figurine made by the Rudolf Kammer Ceramic Factory of Volkstedt, founded in 1862. This factory is in the Saxony-Thuringia area of Germany w the good white clay or kalin used to make fine porcelain is located. The figure is of the French Marshal , Jean Lannes. Lannes was one of Napoleon's closest marshals. He volunteered for the French Army in 1792 and served against Spain. He fought at Loano in 1795 and then joined Bonaparte at the battles of Ceva, Millessimo and Dego.The figurine measures 7-3/4" tall and sits on a white base that measures 3-3/4" diameter. The paint is exquisite with a cobalt jacket with gold trim. The base is embossed, "Lannes".
