LOWERED VERY LOW RESERVE! I WILL LIKELY SELL THIS AT MUCH LESS THAN RESERVE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER VIA EBAY'S SECOND CHANCE PROGRAM. I'LL EXPLAIN AT THE BOTTOM. As I say is many auctions, this incredible antique Dresden pedestal reticulated (which simply means it has intentional holes in it!!) belonged to my grandmother, who passed it down to my mother and was handed down to me. I am selling this and many more items because my husband and I are very low on funds. Grandma lived in Manhattan and loved New York City's bargain districts. She knew bargains and she loved to haggle. She wrote information down regarding jewelry, antiques and china in PENCIL! if you can believe. (She also wrote her best recipes in pencil:) I have had this Dresden piece since my mom passed away 10 years ago. Neither my husband nor I host fancy dinners anymore. I am now selling this because we are having a very difficult financial problems. I have never once, seen this piece on eBay in 10 years. Most importantly: I always kept it put away! So why not sell it instead of keeping it unused in a cabinet - when we need funds so badly? Ok. To description: From bottom to top, it's 7 inches tall. It's gorgeous. Handpainted. From side to side of the top serving part, it is 9 and 1/4th inches wide. It is perfection. The gold is real gold. T are no chips, scratches or any imperfections whatsoever. Anything you may see on the pictures that appears as an imperfection is purely a reflection. I have no idea what the signatures mean. You can likely see them in the pictures. But more likely in the title and the subtitle. What I would love - is for someone to buy this cake plate or serving dish (whatever you would like to use it for) who actually uses this. I've kept in on display only and I am learning that life is too short not to "use the good stuff." T are no flaws whatsoever. I've learned that we should never save the good things for "best" as my mother used to say. Because all too often, best does not come. So it would make me very happy to know that my treasure becomes your treasure that you will use every time you can! I love answering questions.
