A fellow Lissy collector suggested I consider the darling original dotted Swiss pinafore and organdy dress made by Madame Alexander as inspiration for a project for Lissy. I don't own the original, so working from patterns created from other Lissy dresses in my collection, and from photographs, I have created this ensemble. Lacking any vintage orange cotton dotted Swiss fabric, I have made this little pinafore in a a white/navy blue dotted Swiss which is absolutely the correct vintage. The organdy underdress is of new organdy. Tiny val lace trims just about everything--the hem of the pinafore, the sleeves of pinafore and dress, and the necklines of both bodices. Each bodice closes with square snaps. Lissy's hat is of vintage straw, trimmed with vintage forget-me-nots. Please do ask questions.
