Antique 100 year old Mechanical Post Card Duluth Aerial (now the lift bridge) This was when it operated by a 50 foot long car that traversed the canal Titled: Aerail Bridge Over Ship Canal Duluth Minn. Second of it's kind in the world; clear span, 400 ft.; clear height 136 ft.; total height above water 186 ft.; size of car 34X50 ft.; capacity of car, 125,000 lbs.; motive power, electricity; speed, 4 miles per hour. You pull on the tab on the right bottom and the car moves from side to side. This post card is postmarked 1908. The pull tab was repaired at some time. It works fine and the pictures acurately indicate condition with slight sopiling and a couple of light brownish spots. Shipping is by USPS for $2.00 in the US.
