You are bidding on the Royal Air Force/RAF Squadron pin featuring Dumbo. This pin is the Squadron Crest with the Numbers 27 n the sides of the Green Dumbo. Below reads: Royal Air Force: "Quam Celerime As Astra" in Latin. While this pin is not made by Disney, Disney authorized the use of Dumbo for the Squadron in the 1970s -after the Avro Vulcan which had this actual design on its tail fin. The Dumbo Nickname was given in the 1950s by B-29 Pilots who were rescued by these planes when they crashed at sea. The Dumbo is very much like the Disney artwork used in WWII. This pin is LE 200 and measures 1 inch tall. Beautiful colors and a regal looking design. This pin is also individually numbered and comes in its original plastic case.
