DUNHILL BARLEY UNIQUE LIGHTER My much loved Dunhill lighter, about 5 or 6 years old. I gave up smoking some months ago with the aid of the tablets and had this lighter repaired, it cost £70 to repair and the repair guarantee is still valid, I did think about keeping it after I had it repaired but if it goes I would not be tempted to use it. UK ONLY This is the blurb from the Dunhill website 'The Unique Pocket lighter operates in a very similar way to the original Unique lighters. The major difference is that these modern lighters operate on gas. First the cap arm must be raised, which allows gas to be released from the valve, and then the flint is struck by turning the wheel. The spark generated by striking the flint ignites the gas creating the flame.This lighter uses a double wheel mechanism. The wheel on the side of the lighter turns another that actually strikes the flint. This mechanism is gentler on the thumbs and improves the ease of producing a flame. The flame will remain lit until extinguished by replacing the cap arm over the valve.' See photos. Thanks for looking Check out my other items !
