Vintage Dark Oak Dunhill Humidor and Six Pipe Caddy Cabinet Mid to Late 1940's This is a fine and (as you might well expect!) exquisitely made cabinet from Dunhill - a great way of storing and displaying your Dunhill pipes when not in use or simply a decorative piece of Dunhill table furniture to add to your Collection. Made in the 1940's and presented new in 1949 to its first owner (there is an engraved silver presentation square on the front) these pipe rack humidors - or pipe 'Caddy's' as they are often referred to by Dunhill - have been made in various fashions and sold through the decades right from the very early days of the business. Dunhill caddy's really are a mark of distinction, a sign that only the best will do when it comes to selecting a briar and enjoying the gentle art of pipe smoking. Overall, the cabinet measures 27.5cm (width) by 14cm (depth) by 18cm (height) and has an aluminium lined tobacco recess in the body with a heavy weighted lid and integral humidifier under the circular carved lid. To each side, there is room for three pipes, (six in total). As you can (hopefully) see from the pictures the cabinet is in fantastic condition - The fit and finish is superb and clearly conveys the quality you would expect from any product bearing the Dunhill name.
