Two beautiful DUNOON Malvern bone china mugs. These are after the prints of the late 18th to early 19th century botanist / painter Pierre Joseph Redoute. Each mug has two different images and the botanical / Latin name of fruits are t, along with the common names, under the images of the plants One mug has cherries on one side and a pear on the other. The second mug has apricots and red current. The mugs are 4 ½ inches tall and a scant 3 inches in diameter. Each mug weighs 7 ½ ounces. Each says the follow on the bottom (also, see my photos, of course!) “Malvern’, adapted from Redoute’s prints” and “Dunoon / Fine Bone China / Made in England “ although previously owned, these have scarcely been used, if at all (may have just been sitting on a shelf for display). I don’t know when these were made. No chips, no cracks, no spoon lines. In the interest of full disclosure to the ultra-fussy, the mug with the red currents on it has a slender bulge inside near the top… you can’t see it unless you hold the cup at just the right angle, it isn’t noticeable at all from the outside and certainly wouldn’t been seen or felt when you are drinking from it. If you ran your thumb along the inside you can feel it. A slight imperfection in manufacture… I’m sure you know I’m listing this for the pair a lot less than you would pay for them new for even read more
